Cool !
Is it painted or done with selections/filters ?

Bits of both.
The red/black sky is 1 layer. Used Smudge tool and a soft round brush to get the sweeping effects. The city came about as I was playing with the small square brush. Just going up and down, switching from black to greys. Use one of the spotted brushes to add a bit of texture to it, deleting bits so it didn’t look to uniform. The dome was created using the Path Tool, filled in with blue, opacity dropped, mask added so I could remove central part of dome and just try to show it on the edges of the city. I had so much fun playing with it.

Maybe you could turn it into a cool Stephen King inspired book cover, like these:

Tried to give the book cover a faded look. Happy with the crease but feel the white marks are too soft, should be sharper.

You are overdoing it. I'd vote for the original picture with a tile like "The Lost Cities Of Kanipoor".

I think you nailed the theme 100 % ! Its very dramatic !
Maybe make the words 'OF THE' smaller, to make it more epic ? Not sure what you mean with white marks....the black grunge on the text ?

Your text change looks spot on. Will amend tonight if i get chance. Thanks for feedback. (12-05-2017, 09:31 PM)Ofnuts Wrote: You are overdoing it. Found a picture, quickly masked areas I didn’t want as a rough look and tried the Posturize tool to reduce colours... suddenly I had what looked like a radioactive termite. It didn’t really fit..but i just loved it lol. By the way really like The Lost Cities Of Kanipoor. |
