Hello everyone!
I recently bought a 49 inch tv that I want to rotate images on. Suggested pixel size is 1024x768. However, when I use this size, my pictures don't take up the entire screen and big black bars are on the side. If I do increase the pixels (1200x768) it takes up the entire tv but the image quality diminished substantially.
I would like my images to take up the entire width of the tv. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Have a look at how your tv is described. Usually something like 1080P or 720P

1080 has a screen 1920 x 1080, which I suspect yours is. Try that size

720 is 1280 x 720 and the tv upscaling causes the fuzzy image (just the same as upscaling in Gimp)

The 1024 x 768 is a size you might use when converting DVD video to widescreen (16:9) mp4 video.

Of course, if you are scaling some small image to 1920 x 1080 with Gimp do not expect a wonderful tv picture.

That worked perfectly, thank you! I wonder why the manual doesn't say 1920x1080?
