Now that is the sort of response guaranteed to get you overlooked. You already know all about it. Use the paint tool and get painting.
However; Make a new layer Layer -> New Layer Use the rectangular select tool and make a rectangle for the path. Fill the selection / paint in it / make your pattern Turn the selection off. Select -> None Reduce the layer size to smallest size Layer -> Crop to Content Use the Perspective Tool Tools -> Transform Tools -> Perspective (shift P) example: https://i.imgur.com/kafReLE.mp4

If you will please re-read my response that is not what I said. I said that I already know all about the principles of perspective--what I don't know is how to apply these to a flat 2D image in Gimp to simulate actual perspective lines in 3D. Thank you for the advice.

this was your question
Quote:Is there a way to take a flat 2D image of a building (front view, no perspective) and add a sidewalk coming off the porch entrance that looks 3D? See example. this is one way, https://i.imgur.com/kafReLE.mp4 The added path is the same as your example. |
