old photo restore for gimp 3.0?

Hi All,

Is there an old photo restore plugin for Gimp 3.0?

I asked this guy for it:
     https://github.com/stongey/PhotoRestore/issues/2

But  I am not sure he has written it yet or ever will.

This project hasn't seen an update in 6 years and the other projects by the same GitHub id are about as old, so I wouldn't hold my breath.

There is an author email address in the plugin, you could try that, but same as Ofnuts you are unlikely to get a fix.

My advice is do not give up on Gimp 2.10 if possible , especially if you need a batch operation. Which linux are you using ? You might be able to use an alternative such as gmic_gimp_qt plugin, although you might have to compile that yourself.
As an example, a Gimp 3.0 RC1 appimage + plugin in a kubuntu 24.04  Not quite as vivid as the plugin but once set up easy to duplicate image-by-image.

Also, 6 years later, Gimp has changed somewhat and some functionality has been added or improved making old plugins or scripts less necessary. Some of my own plugins have been obsoleted by Gimp 2.10, and some more by Gimp 3.0.
