beautify plugin ! i can not install it!

i cannot install (not viewed in the filters or scripts list) beautify plugin even i did all what the owner said in read file . ! and the owner did not answer on github ,,Or, in the truest sense, forgotten, because it has been a long time ..

It is an old plugin, do not expect much from from github

According to your forum profile you are using WindowsXP. Is this correct? It does make a difference.

Next which version of Gimp are you using the latest Gimp 2.8.22 from gimp.org or something else?

You need 4 files in your Gimp plug-ins folder
WindowsXP: Documents and Settings\"yourname"\.gimp-2.8\plug-ins
Windows7 and up: C:\Users\"yourname"\.gimp-2.8\plug-ins

beautify.exe border.exe simple-border.exe skin-whitening.exe

and two folders in your gimp profile ...the...\"yourname"\.gimp-2.8  folder

texture-border and rip-border

Come back with the necessary info for more assistance, if I know your version of Windows (32/64 bit) I can fix up a zip of the files.

Urgent change problem solved! when i moved the folder texture-border to user/ gimp / plugins ! and re copy it with focus again in the plugin folders in c and in user folder . and copy the 4 exe files to plugin folder alone without the whole folder ..

 good thing ! that you uploaded the pic ( Imgur pic )  i did not focus on the words as the pic , it is more eloquent for those who observe.

Perhaps the main reason, is creating texture-border folder in user/gimp/plugins , and moved the exe files ! as first . and the others steps surely ..

But crashes! Lot .. The github issues on it may will take years to get the answer. It is old and may be the owner or developer forgot it ..!

I used Beautify a lot for the Pencil art plug in. Is there a newer plugin that might accomplish a pencil-like portrait? I have tried G'MIC - which is awesome - but the pencil art isn't quite as good.

I have had a look around in the old scripts and plugins and to be honest, they are dire.

I will put this up as an example of Beautify. Other users might have good recommendations for one or all of the varieties.



gmic_gimp is still going to be your best bet. One filter alone might not be enough but for example, in the testing section Samj_Test_Mauvais_Contours gives a result but has to be color inverted.

..or even regular Gimp filters. This one 'Filters -> Artistic -> Photocopy' but again, not a one-stop operation, up to you to adjust.
