Gimp is 100% RGB. Soft Proofing is not conversion.
However there are various ways to export an image with CMYK colour space. One of them is a plugin Cyan details here: https://www.gimp-forum.net/Thread-CMYK-c...3#pid11743 links to downloads and a short how-to
If you have problems installing in Gimp then Cyan is also a stand-alone program. Export your RGB image from Gimp and run it through Cyan.
For a one-off there are web services for conversion example: https://www.rgb2cmyk.org/
Other ways: A bit over the top but Krita is free and converts and edits RGB/CMYK
