Diagonal oval selection
#1
Good afternoon, gentlemen,

I'd like to know how I can select with an oval, and rotate -not the part of the image selected- but the selection zone itself, in order to select a diagonal oval.

Thank you in advance for your kind help,

Gauthier

Make your elliptical selection
Use the rotate tool
Click on the selection mode in the tool options
click in the canvas and either click-drag to rotate or use the dialogue slider.
Click the rotate button to fix

edit: remember to restore the rotate mode to layer (the first icon) once finished with your selection.

Thank you, I got it. the selection mode is what Iwas missing.
Another question: how can I add a picture in this forum?
Via PasteAll?

If you use the full editor you can add an image directly, depending on file size.

as in the help: https://www.gimp-forum.net/misc.php?action=help&hid=11

I tend to use imur, easy and quick, providing quality is not a concern.

Does PasteAll work. Never come across that one, might work
