Distance Between Guides

Hi, all. New GIMP user here.

Is there an option in GIMP to view the distance between guides?

Example from Fireworks.

I use the Gimp guides as percentages but they can be used as pixels. So a 50% horizontal guide divides the height by half. (Same for vertical guides but by width). You can check the actual height of the image/layers in inches, mm's or pixels. You may have to use a calculator to get exact numbers.

I remember you can use the 'RectangleSelect Tool' from the toolbox to outline the exact dimensions of objects.
The dimensions are viewable in the bottom left of the image canvas. They change as the mouse moves so you have to record them somehow.

Also by clicking the down arrow lower left you can change from pixels to inches or other.

Also edit/preferences/snapping/snap to guides.  Increase the snapping pixel distance to your preference.

And the size is recorded in the side menu also unit adjustable.

You could use ofnuts list guides Python script (this works with GIMP V2.10.38 flatpak for me but not with V3.0.0 RC1) from https://sourceforge.net/projects/gimp-to...p/download

Clearly you would have to do the arithmetic manually. The process could be automated to give the separations in pixels but unless you do this frequently it probably wouldn't be worth the effort.

Maybe this can help you : there exist a gimp plugin (Guides Lab) that gives you the ability to place guides (horizontal/vertical) by typing values into a vertical/horizontal table. It is possible to correct the values afterwards.
