Float: remove lock by default

? but, is it possible to have float layers be un~locked by default

I find that question a little ambiguous. Could you expand / give example.

I can not replicate that. Even if the destination image has all the locks on pixel / position and size / alpha the pasted-in selection is not locked.
Do you perhaps mean anchoring the floating selection ?

* this 1 min video demonstrates it:

* (btw, i delete my dropbox vids after a week or so)

* thanks, this works
* i also now realize that one can also create a shortcut key to "paste as new layer"
* also, a shortcut key to lock|un~lock can be created
* and so, i now have quick ways of dealing with this issue ?
