You could always try 'Microsoft Expressions Encoder 4 Screen Capture SP2' - it's a bit old but does the job.. needs to be downloaded from the archives - https://web.archive.org/web/201711201523...x?id=27870 ,you need Silverlight too apparently.. https://www.microsoft.com/Silverlight/
it outputs .xesc video files, which can be read by VLC and the video editor I use (Shotcut https://shotcut.org/) or if need be you can convert/transcode with ffmpeg.
