Gimp 2.10 can't draw a line in Gimp 2.10
#1
Good day

I have used Gimp a few times to resize and edit images.
I installed Gimp 2.10 yesterday.
Using a brush, I left click in the corner and drag my mouse to the other corner and no line appears.
When I release my mouse the line suddenly pops up.
When I used 2.8 it worked fine.

Is this some setting I am missing?
I would appreciate any help.
Thanks

I can not reproduce that using a regular brush and painting normally.

Are you drawing straight lines holding the shift key, click and drag ?
If so the 'painted' line is not drawn until the mouse is released but there is an indication of where the line goes.

I just use a normal brush and draw random shapes, image stays blank till I release mouse then all suddenly pops up.
I installed this on a second pc and this also happens on that one.
When I shift click the line is immediately there.

Hi,

I'm having the exact same issue. I am running Gimp 2.10.2 on my Windows 10 PC. I tried installing the same version of Gimp on a Linux machine and on another Windows 10 machine, and neither of them had the same problem.

To clear up any confusion as to what exactly it is that we are experiencing, I recorded the bug on video. Notice that the line does not appear until the mouse is released.

This the signs of a hardware problem. Probably the video card.

Clutching at straws: Can you try in Edit -> Preferences -> System Resources
Set the Number of Threads to Use to 1
Try Hardware Acceleration set to Use OpenCL (or off it is on)
