Gimp Font & Mode and Opacity Box size.
#1

Hi - can anyone help? I don't know what the names of these Gimp parts of the toolbox are called that I've circled in red.  Does anyone know how to make the Font and the Mode & Opacity boxes larger, like you can enlarge the tool icon sizes and the interface themes found in preferences. I use them a lot and they are so small I keep adjusting them the wrong way with the mouse. I read somewhere a thread on this subject from five years ago but it didn't seem to have a clear answer. Has someone found how to make them larger since then, please?                Charles.

If you want to adjust only this, you will need to edit the gimprc file
https://www.gimp.org/man/gimprc.html

Or if you don't want to get dirty hands, find a theme which suits your needs like https://www.deviantart.com/migf1/art/Cle...-846265163
Google "GIMP theme" or "GIMP theme deviantart" you'll find countless themes out there

You can get an immediate change if you go Edit -> Preferences -> Interface -> Style and untick Use compact sliders. https://i.imgur.com/J0auoEt.jpg
That returns you to a Gimp 2.10.14 (and earlier) format where the rate of change on the slider depends on top-of-the-slider / center-of-slider

Otherwise, the depth of the sllder is dependent on the font size: A comparison of both: https://i.imgur.com/LlqWEnj.jpg Useful if you are using a 4k monitor and the interface is small.

There is a plugin to assist changing menu text size "Change menu letters & other icons.py"
A link to it here https://www.gimp-forum.net/Thread-UI-fon...7#pid22487
