Gimp crashes when scaling images

Hi all,

Thanks for all your replies, really appreciated it.

The problem only exists when I am downscaling very large images, so I now do this in Microsoft Paint of all things and it's done perfectly in a split second, so it seems it's defo some glitch with Gimp!
