I think I found those fonts. For a proper solution, you should contact the author for clarification. They probably show up correctly in an application where just the font family shows and a drop down menu to select a class.
However in Gimp, omnes-extralight.ttf shows up as the author has named it 'omnes, regular' and omnes-thin.ttf shows up as Omnes Thin. This screenshot with kfontviewer/Gimp in Kubuntu 16.04 https://i.imgur.com/rktl37b.jpg
It is possible to use Fontforge and generate the fonts with new family names so that Omnes ExtraLight & Omnes Thin show up in Gimp with those names. Screenshot https://i.imgur.com/3Bujxdi.jpg
Attached the two files as otf (zipped) so no confusing with your existing ttf files. I am no expert with fonts/fontforge, it is about the best I can do.
