Why are you doing 'select->none'?
The way it works now: you select the area you want to fill with a gradient, set a start and end point, then you can dynamically move the points. When you have it how you like, then press 'ENTER'.
-edit I think you are doing 'select->none' before you hit the ENTER key to finalize your gradient. If you select none before you hit enter, then yes, I have the same issue you are experiencing.
