HTTPS, Mission Statements, and More...

Howdy all!

I was wondering if there had been any thought (yet) about setting up https for the site (I've had great results with letsencrypt certs for instance)?  I was also wondering if there was a sort of "mission statement" that would clearly define the goals of the forum (like why post here vs. another place)?

I'm in the process of writing posts for social media to help spread the word for you and just wondered if these things were covered?

Statement? "Trying to give understandable and technically sound answers...." (unless they are technically sound and understandable).

Does this forum need a motto/slogan?

I think I'd change your statement slightly:
"Trying to give understandable and technically sound answers to GIMP questions...."
