gimp-temp-160960.exr in GIMP\2.10\tmp
#1
gimp-temp-160960.exr in GIMP\2.10\tmp is 232 MB. Since that is a temporary folder, why has that file not been deleted when GIMP was closed? Can it be manually deleted, especially since I have changed my tmp file to another drive?

The question is have you been opening/ trying to open any .exr files from maybe blender or some other graphics application?

I would say delete it but if you want to be over-careful, back it up first before deleting.

edit: this is what it says about the tmp file in gimprc

Quote:# Sets the folder for temporary storage. Files will appear here during the
# course of running GIMP.  Most files will disappear when GIMP exits, but
# some files are likely to remain, so it is best if this folder not be one
# that is shared by other users.  This is a single folder.

# (temp-path "${gimp_dir}/tmp")

I have very occasionally found a stray remainder there, just delete it.

Except for a few system, etc. files of small size, I don't have another exr file on my computer. I've backed it up and deleted it. I have no idea where it came from. Thanks for the info.
