'Image -> Guides' not available

I've got 2.10.20 installed on Win7 64-bit laptop.  Was following along with a typically great 'Davies Media Design' Youtube tutorial when he selected 'Image/Guides/New Guide (by percent)'.  That's when I realized I do not have a 'Guides' selection on my 'Image' menu.  I installed 2.10.22 but it is the same.  Made sure 'View/Show Guides' was checked in case the menu item was dependent on it, no change.

Thoughts?

No great fan of Davies Media, typically more ego than content, however:

Did it ever work ? Did you have an older (maybe Gimp 2.8) installation ?

Try disabling your Gimp 2.10 profile (by a rename to) C:\Users\"yourname"\AppData\Roaming\GIMP-old

Start Gimp, let it make a new default (empty) Gimp User Profile. See if there is any difference.

that did it, thank you so much.  I'm pretty sure I used that functionality earlier in 2.10, but it might have been in the 2.8 days.

Now I've got to rebuild my look and feel, that gives me a reason to acquaint myself with the folders and ini files in that directory. 

Wonder what else I'll find had been corrupted and is now fixed?
