I think this issue with Windows Gimp 2.10.28 and the 'stable' gimp_gmic_qt
From the download page: Note: Latest release 2.10.28 of GIMP is known to introduce DLL compatibility issues with G'MIC latest stable version (2.9.9). If you want to use our G'MIC plug-in for GIMP 2.10.28, please get the latest dev binaries.
Remove the installed version and replace with https://gmic.eu/files/prerelease/gmic_gi..._win64.exe
Edit:
hmmm. I get a slightly different error with the 2.9.9 gmic version That libgobject error was reported here: https://discuss.pixls.us/t/gmic-not-open...gimp/24458
also another issue with a missing dll see: https://discuss.pixls.us/t/on-the-road-to-3-0/17226/391 As far as I can see not fixed in the 3.0.0 zip package. I would use the .exe installer
Since the system is relatively new, I was hoping I could fix the problem with a system restore. Unfortunately, the last checkpoint was after I had already uninstalled the old version of Gimp and GMIC that was working. Going to reinstall Gimp and try your suggestion now.
Since the system is relatively new, I was hoping I could fix the problem with a system restore. Unfortunately, the last checkpoint was after I had already uninstalled the old version of Gimp and GMIC that was working. Tried installing GIMP 2.10.28, and the GMIC 2.10 filters from the link. Still getting the message here upon opening Gimp...

Just tried uninstalling both again to be sure - but the same errors still appear upon launching GIMP, as well as the GMIC filters do not appear. Not sure what else to try. Is there an older version of GIMP and GMIC that work that I can try? I don't recall the old version number that I had, or the GMIC version I had also, I want to say 2.9.... Really wished I had not uninstalled it.
