Hi, new to the forum,
Just tried to reopen a file on mac and 1 of the layers had completely disappeared. Is this a common issue? Any ideas? I've tried file recovery, checking layer groups and can't for the life of me figure this out.

I have head of totally corrupted files (and the problem wasn't really with Gimp), but never about one random layer disappearing... How many layers in the image?

Hiya, thanks for that. There were 3 layers, I think somehow between pressing command + s and exiting GIMP, I managed to delete a layer without noticing and then resave it. Is there any way to find this old file now?
