After I insert a text box, I haven't been able to find a way to relocate it, even after reading the manual. How do I move it?

A few ways. In pictures

1. Still in the text tool hold ctl-alt keys, click in the text box and drag to new position

2. Use the move tool, click on solid text and drag or enable move the active layer click and drag.

3. In the text tool, the top left corner determines starting point, click and drag. You might need to adjust the bottom right handle to get the text to fit.
