Another infrequent offering
A Gimp 2.9.5 feature that has been there a while but I only just noticed.
A setting for the icon size. Icons and themes are split, but there is that little option at the bottom of the icon option menu which lets you set a size.

This is my 1920x1080 display http://i.imgur.com/KUWWexG.jpg so for one of those 4K monitors that are around now, maybe now you can see those tools.
