Come-on folks, Gimp does not destroy your Windows, gimp-gmic does not destroy your Windows. I have been using home computers since the 1980's and if anything does not work, first thing I ask is What did I do wrong?.
There is more than enough information on the web site now to direct a new user to the correct installation procedure.

What about linux users? One file, pop it into your Gimp profile.
