I was able to change fonts size, but on one text box it doesn't seem to work. I'm on the correct layer. The other text boxes have the same font as this one so it isn't the style being defective or anything. Any reason why it'd do this?

There are two ways to change the font size:

1. For the selected text, in the on-canvas text edit widget
2. For text that hasn't been changed using method #1, using the Text tool tool options.

You likely changed the font for all the text with method #1 (and I don't know how you can go back from this....), in which case you have to change the text characteristic using the on-canvas widget.
