Ahh! I have printed the same photo from Irfanview and from MS Photos and they all look the same. Seems like the problem is with the printer or the drivers.
I am using HP Photopaper and non-standard ink cartridges. I suppose that this will have an influence but surely it can be adjusted in some way?
