Re: Beautify Plugin
#1
I downloaded the newest version of Gimp for Windows 10 and I can't figure out how to get this awesome plugin called Beautify installed in the new version of GIMP 2.10.6. I love this plugin and would like to use it on the new version. If someone could please help step by step with any screenshots provided I would appreciate it very much.

Gimp 2.10 has its own user profile where resources, plugins, scripts, brushes etc. are stored.

C:\Users\your-name\AppData\Roaming\GIMP\2.10\...

It is a hidden folder, if you need to 'un-hide' it see

https://www.windows10themes.net/guides/h...indows-10/

Gimp 2.10 copies resources from Gimp 2.8 profile C:\Users\"yourname"\.gimp-2.8 to this folder so your beautify might already be there and might work.

The four exe files beautify.exe beautify.exe, border.exe, simple-border.exe skin-whitening.exe go in:
C:\Users\your-name\AppData\Roaming\GIMP\2.10\plug-ins

The four folders effects, rip-boarder, simple-border, texture-border go in:
C:\Users\your-name\AppData\Roaming\GIMP\2.10

Unfortunately in Windows simple-border does not work with Gimp 2.10 until someone decides to fix it.

If you need those files they are here:
https://my.pcloud.com/publink/show?code=...k0dpG6dVck 50 MB zip file, updated to most recent Windows 64 bit files I can find (samj) and include the four folders.

I have a problem. I followed your instructions however, after clicking 'Roaming' their was no GIMP folder. Only Microsoft. Nothing else. I am using GIMP 2.10.6. That folder is not there. What do I do next?

That is a problem. Are you using, perhaps, a portable version of Gimp or maybe just looking in the wrong place.

Open Gimp and go to Edit -> Preferences
Bottom of preferences is a Folders section. Find the Plug-ins entry.
That shows the paths to the plugins folders on your computer.
The one you want is the one starting C:\Users\....

Have a search for that.
