Hi guys. Ive recently started using Gimp to design flyers.
I made a Poster which turned out great, I’m currently designing a timeline banner to go with it, I need to shrink an image to roughly 300x300 pixels so it fits on the banner but every image I use distorts.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Are you keeping the proportions ? How are you shrinking it ?
Did you try the scale tool ? Shrinking normally works fine if we do it correctly.

What size in pixels is your Poster ? What size in millimetres is your Poster ? If you do not know look in Image -> Image Properties the top two lines Size-in-pixels / Print size
What size in pixels is the banner image ? Any sort of scaling up or down will introduce a distortion.
300 x 300 pix is not a large size for adding to a poster.
