GC never had a SSL/TLS certificate (http without "s"), this does not mean that you cannot go, on the contrary, it's certainly an update of your browser lately that gives you this "alert"

On the other hand GC could use Let's Encrypt like here, I mean seriously, to finally get a certificate and don't make its users managing with alerts from updated browsers ...
I mean it's free with the Let's Encrypt basic plan it's even proposed by many hosts, and Let's Encrypt automatically update certificate every month or so without the owner of the website to care about it as it's all automated Angel
