Still Having Problem Printing Images The Correct Size
#1

This is my problem, I can get 2 images on the canvas that LOOK correct on my screen, however when I print them they come out the wrong size and cropped.

The method I use to get this far is produce a single image - Save As, Open as layers, Show all, separate the 2 images side by side , fit image to canvas, this looks fine on the screen but when I print it this is what happens (please see attachment).

I think I should explain that I am using these images to make ceramic coasters using the sublimation method. This involves using a heat press to transfer the images onto the ceramic coaster blank. It transpires that I have a special "colour profile"
installed in Gimp that allows for the fact the printed colours are changed considerably due to the heating process. This colour profile is not installed in Word, so despite being able to get the image spacing and size perfect I couldn't print them as all the colours went wrong when I sublimated  them.

Thank you for all your help and patience, and I hope you will be able to solve this simple problem for me.

Regards from the UK John.

GIMP works with pixels, Ofnuts wrote an excellent comprehensive tuto for people who want to print over-there > https://www.gimp-forum.net/Thread-Image-size-in-Gimp

Apart from that comprehensive post.

Printing onto a special paper for a heat-transfer tool ?  All to do with printing margins.
The missing border? Probably in a non-printable area and just gets cropped off. Make sure your image is outside that border.
The smaller size. Typically when printing on standard size paper the full paper size gets squashed between the margins and scaled down

You do need to look at your printer specifications. All I can do is indicate what to look for. This is my old Brother printer.  From the handbook it gives this for printable areas.  For most work, documents etc,  a 3 mm non-printing area is covered by regular document margins. But you do need to know what they are.

In Windows Gimp File -> Print there is a button for "Preferences" and that should take you to the printer software setup. You do need to go there and look for - A borderless option (turn it on) - A scaling option (set to off)

What can you do in Gimp.
The first thing is know what your print size is. As previous posts use Image -> Print Size  to find out the resolution (.ppi)
Now look at your Gimp Printing Properties. Can you get the resolution to match the Print size value. If you can't then the image is scaled.
Cancel printing, go back to the image and crop some space off the sides and bottom. That will allow the print resolutions to match and you get a full size print.

Problem solved !! Thanks to rich2005 - it was the printer settings all along not Gimp. I changed to Borderless printing, Fill Page, and Centered in the other settings menu and it WORKED !!
