I am a new Gimp 2.10 user (refusing, after getting a new Mac running OSX 12.4 Monterey, to pay Adobe for annual licence fees for a Photoshop program I already own).
I need to save .xcf files with an icon/thumbnail so that I can see what is in them in the Finder. All I see is the Gimp Fox?+Paintbrush icon. This does not happen with .pdf, .psd or .tif files saved from any other program, but still happens when I export to .tif from Gimp.
I can find no option within the Gimp Preferences. And web posts on plugins etc were not clear.
Advice?
