Using a path as a guide will definitely be how I approach this situation going forward. 
I don't know if I knew how to explain the situation in relation to my attempt to use the scale tool. I remove the link that holds the aspect between Width and Height.
The procedure asks for the width to be transformed by this value; 86,602. I don't know if the result will be functional with approximate values. (Something I'll soon find out...)
