Your screenshots bring up some questions.
In Gimp
That will let you create a text path using (1) the path (Selection#1 in your image) (2) Text using specified font and size) (3) Position of the text path relative to the circular path. (4) Flip the path, no need to use the Gimp Flip tool
You get a new path, somewhere on the circle, rotate it into position and possibly a little move for final adjustment.
In Gimp
- Using a text layer (abcdef) and Layer -> Text along Path The path is named abcdef and your screenshot shows Path. Did you re-name the path or is the path from some other application?
- The circular path (s) are on the base of the text path. Not impossible with Gimp but normally the path is central. Did you add (Selection#1) later?
- Are there any text layers? To add matching text you need to know the font and the font size.
