Asking for a friend: Uncommanded color changes between FG and BG within a single stroke using the pencil tool.

Layer mode of the active layer, paint mode of the tool... and check in the channels list that all channels are selected.

I can get that with a dynamic setting - colour from gradient & using a hard edge gradient with a repeat option.

Unusual to get these settings as an accident but not impossible Wink

As Ofnuts post. Give as much information as possible.
