What have I forgotten?
#1

I am so used to doing gradients, but of late they are just not 'behaving like they should'
One a 'horizon to sky' I just tried and I got just the first color, Same happens with other gradients. Fixed color is white.
Could I have changed something in preferences. I restored tool presets on my gradient tool option dialog

Just tried another one and after a couple tries it turned to custom?

"Custom"' means you have altered/edited the gradient. When you edit the gradient in the Blend tool the edited version is renamed to "Custom" and is made the active gradient (so this replaces the standard gradient you had before using the tool for all future uses, until you explicitly re-selected another gradient.

And from what you show it seems that the midpoint of the Custom gradient has been dragged all the way to the end point, which would explain the behavior.

Thanks for your input Ofnuts - just that the gradients were turning into custom and I wasn't copying, editing or anything.

Figured it out. I didn't have 'modify active gradient' checked in the tool options.
