There is a possible workaround near the end of that thread. Not many (none) OSX users around here to confirm one-way-or-another.

but I do have a Virtual Mac that I can drag out to give a try. Dumped the dark theme and a few tabs to make it easier to see. I think a solution might be to lock the tool options tab.
