inkscape png not opening properly in gimp
#1
Hi,
I've created an icon in Inkscape (svg saved as a png). However, it's blank when I open it in gimp (png).
In windows explorer, I can see that the png size is 1 px x 1 px. That's crazy because the svg is 350px  x 400
I suspect this has something to do with layers because I have been clicking and trying out the options. But that just a guess. There must be a setting I've ticked inadvertently. But I just cannot figure it out. Angry
I've attached the svg and the png in case some kind soul would have the courage to have a look.
I've been at this for hours, and it's 2h30 am, so I'm off to my bed.
This is the 4th icon I've made today and The all came out perfectly. So it's not a compatibility problem between gimp and Inkscape.
Thanks guys
Sleepy

Exported without problems here. Opened in Gimp without problems.

I did notice that in Inkscape there are no layers. I have found that happens if the image is created outside of Inkscape and opened in Inkscape. I don't how to do that using only Inkscape. I created a layer, moved everything to that layer and then exported.

How are you exporting from Inkscape? Do not use Save, use the Export function and check as below.

A better way is open the svg straight into Gimp. Note the default ppi (90) if you intend to print at quality you might want to change this to a higher value (and get a larger than 350x400 pix image in Gimp)

Edit: Only just noticed, that tiny png attachment Smile

Looking at the properties and comparing with my export from Inkscape. Somehow it got the size 1x1

If you are going to export from Inkscape, check that you are on the 'page' tab as first screenshot.

Hello and thank you ever so much for all that effort - it was worth it though because it worked.

I put in the settings you gave and it worked. Somehow, I must have realigned the export settings without knowing it.

Thanks again
