For Windows:

Remove whatever you have installed, it is probably the source code that is used to compile.

Go here: http://gimpchat.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=21535#p294979 and download Resynthesizer3.0.zip

Unzip and put the folder resynthesizer in your Gimp 3 plug-ins folder Put the 3 scripts in your Gimp 3 scripts folder.

I just put all the plugin files in the Gimp 3 plug-ins folder. The script files, I don't use them because they result in errors during the gimp 3 startup. Resynthesizer work fine without the script files on my windows 10 computer.

Ok, there are two situations for Windows.

The original files from JamesH, 3 script-fu files in the scripts folder and the python plugin in the plugins folder.

or since the same script-fu files are actually GIMP 3 plugins, put them all in the plugins folder with the requirement that each plugin is in its own folder. Sooner or later you will have to do this so you might as well get used to it.
