but I like patterns based on material.I was already doing gingham by hand, with the stripes on a transparent background and the layer opacity 50%, rotating one layer by 90 degrees:
Starting with:

Instead using your script with the same starting pic, a white background layer (or no background layer and the background colour white) and "weave None, transparency":
