@hedrickbez Is that brush a full circle shape ? Without using it not easy to see what is going wrong. Sometimes a brush is used as a 'stamp' one-click to paint, sometimes a brush is used with the eraser tool to cut out a shape.
Another way is use a path, I will attach one I made It is sized for your 1000x1000 image but a path (a vector) scales up or down without loss of quality.
This one milled-edge.svg is not opened as an image, right click in the paths dock and use import path. Then Select > from Path, and in this case invert the selection and cut out the edge.

Thank you, for your explanation, I am going to try and work with it.

Quote:It shouldnt, Try turning the selection off and importing again. That xcf you have is much larger than 1000x1000 a lot of the background is not visible. Otherwise you can scale it to 1000x1000 with the scale tool in path mode (the right side tool option mode)
Quote:I want to add Grooves to the image, but I cannot get it to set
When I move around I can see the groove moving, but when I click to add it, it does not.
What am I doing wrong.
Problem solved I saw your post on Reddit and got that brush from deviantart.
It is a full circle, use it as a stamp. Not showing because 1) The active selection needs either inverting or removing 2) size the brush to 1120 px

I found why the path imported at a large scale. It is a pixel-per-inch (ppi) setting. I used your image file pers.xcf which is 72 ppi Use a file with some other larger ppi and the path is sized accordingly.

I am making new file with 1000x1000, when I import the path, I marked "scale imported paths to fit image" and it works.
Thanks you for your help
