two pencils - pencil5 - 02-10-2025 I have been using GIMP for so many years I don't remember anymore. It used to be easier to use, but now I spend most of my time changing the pencil settings back and forth. I finally found the preferences tab where all the brushes share settings. That is a bit better, now I have 4 brushes that do not interfere with each other. What I want is a pencil that stays set at its pencil settings. This pencil must always be there and no have its settings changed by anything else I might need a tool to do. I want a second pencil for using with all the weird options. Preferably a coarse brush and a fine brush, that stay set at those settings. The airbrush I can afford to setup each time I need to use it. I would prefer that these be separate icons in the tools. I do not expect to get a keyboard shortcut for each. GIMP seems to have everything configurable, but so complex that nothing can actually be found. Do I have to edit the source code to get this ? RE: two pencils - Ofnuts - 02-10-2025 You can't have several copies of the tool, but for a tool you can save a bunch of settings together, give that a name and reload these later. This is done via the 4 icons at the bottom of the Tool options and is described in the doc. [attachment=13081]
