Make an image darker bolder. - ConductorX - 02-20-2018

I have a b&w line drawing and I wish to make all of the lines heavier / darker / bolder without tracing over every single line.

Is there a way to do this? A tool or enhancement?

Thanks,
"CX"

Several ways:

1) Filters>Generic>Erode

2) Color select the lines ( SelectByColor ), Select>Grow by the necessary quantity then Bucket-fill the selection. For smoother edges, two ways:

- Select>Feather by one or two pixels before the bucket-fill
- Select>To path followed by Select>From path before the bucket-fill

That is nice but bucket fill only change one or two pixels at a time. Even selecting the entire drawing you have to click on every line and every piece just to darken and enlarge it.

Thta's our best guess without seeing the drawing. Line thickness, contrast, plenty of ting can make it different. Can you post a significant extract?

Try G'MIC - Contours - Morphological Filter

(Erosion and Kernel probably: Circular)
