Perspective shadow help - LisaRH72 - 05-20-2018

Hello,

I've been trying to add a shadow to the attached image - I want the shadow in front of the image with a light source being behind the subject to the left.

I just can't figure it out. I've tried Drop Shadow & perspective shadow but can't find any way to add it to the front. I've also tried Gmic and Layers Effect.

I'd really appreciate any advice as it's slowly driving me mad this morning!

Thank you for any help and advice,
Lisa

Maybe someone can get a shadow using the transform tools but not going to be straightforward. I tried all sorts without joy. The problem is the 2-D representation of a very 3-D object. Hands / feet touching the ground at quite different distances.

What you really need is a good artist to give advice and that is not me. You can get some guide for painting in a shadow by rendering a grid and rotating in the direction of the light. Sketch out a rough outline, paint in a shadow. Something (very-something-ish) like this. https://i.imgur.com/zAdr9DC.jpg

I tried with V 2.10's Unified Transform Tool, but it doesnt work 100% because catgirl has more than two contact points with the ground.

What you could do is erase the silhouette wherever it has no contact with the ground and apply Motion Blur, but this only works for a specific direction of light.
