using free select tool - shepherd1969 - 11-14-2018
I'm having issues with this tool that I didn't have before the upgrade. I add a picture - Add Alpha Channel - select free tool - outline. I get the ants after double clicking but the highlighted image is not being removed. Any help?

32 bit Windows - Which version of Gimp are you using 2.10.6 or ....
or are you using a 64 bit Windows.
The obvious, Are you cutting the active selection selection Edit -> Cut or ctrl-x ?

Take a look at the option for this tool. There are 4 different Mode:
1. Replace current selection
2. Add to the current selection
3. Subtract from current selection
4. Intersect with current selection
Make sure you have the first one checked.
