Can I add an ICC printer profile in 2.10? - johna1954 - 01-26-2019 Hi, I am currently running Linux Mint 19.1 as my O/S. I am aware that you can add an ICC printer profile in GIMP for Softproofing but is there a way to send that profile to the printer directly from GIMP? I would like to add a profile for my Graphics art quality OKI Laser printer Pro 9431. I have tried adding profiles in 'colord' but makes no difference that I can see. I have checked that the Gnome Color Manager is correctly installed. Would I use the 'Assign profile' or 'Convert to Color Profile'? TIA John RE: Can I add an ICC printer profile in 2.10? - rich2005 - 01-26-2019 Not bang-up-to-date, but this says convert works. https://forum.manjaro.org/t/solved-manage-color-icc-profile-for-print/37072/7 It also says using Darktable for printing works. Lots of Darktable users on https://discuss.pixls.us/ Worth asking the question there. The Darktable route does seem to work but a bit convoluted and also found that it re-scales my image. I had tried the 'Convert to Color Profile' previously but the image changed and then changed back almost immediately. If I clicked on 'Undo' then the same happened. Open that, has it retained the new profile? It does here using Image -> Image Properties https://i.imgur.com/zQRGRJn.jpg I wonder if it is the OKI icc profile? Made for Mac possibly? The OKI profile I had made using Argyll. Thanks again John |
