Can GIMP compress a png image? - chrisj - 02-14-2019 Can GIMP compress a png image? If so, how? thanks RE: Can GIMP compress a png image? - rich2005 - 02-14-2019 The Gimp default png export already has compression maxed out at value 9 Small reduction in file size is possible if the 'extras' exif etc are unticked. Otherwise can you give more details. Are you trying to hit a particular file size. It might be possible to adjust an image somehow (drastically reduce the number of colours for example) to get a smaller size. RE: Can GIMP compress a png image? - Ofnuts - 02-14-2019 If the image is color indexed Gimp will create a color-indexex PNG (but it won't have partial opacity). |
