Separating Image from Background - shirlg52 - 05-09-2019 Hi Guys, I am a new user of Gimp, and have problems when separating images from backgrounds. I follow what I think is the correct procedure as follows: Import a JPG file. Select ‘Add Alpha Channel’. Select ‘Intelligent Scissors’. Use scissors to select portion to be isolated. Select ‘Invert’. However when I depress CtrL + X, both the selected image and the background is deleted. Where am I going wrong? After using the Scissors press Enter to confirm the selection. You will get a moving dotted line (marching ants). Now Invert the selection, etc. RE: Separating Image from Background - shirlg52 - 05-10-2019 (05-09-2019, 06:28 AM)Blighty Wrote:(05-09-2019, 02:21 AM)shirlg52 Wrote: Select ‘Intelligent Scissors’.
