default foreground/background - eingram25 - 05-09-2017 I guess this is kinda picky, but is the FG/BG tool supposed to open with white foreground? When I want a new screen, I always have to click the FG/BG tool or go to advanced options in the file new dialog and say open in foregraund color. Is there a way to get it to open with black foreground and white background? I've looked at all the items in edit preferences and can't find it. RE: default foreground/background - Ofnuts - 05-09-2017 It's just because Gimp remembers a setting you used. See http://www.gimp-forum.net/Thread-Your-Gimp-initial-settings RE: default foreground/background - eingram25 - 05-09-2017 I'm very careful to always have the foreground black when I quit Gimp. What I'm trying to find out is: What setting does it remember that causes this behavior? RE: default foreground/background - rich2005 - 05-09-2017 (05-09-2017, 11:34 AM)eingram25 Wrote: .... What setting does it remember that causes this behavior?... I think the other way round, it forgets settings if Save tool options on exit is un-checked, which is the best option. [attachment=521] Read ofnuts advice again but briefly Choose the tool you want to open with (paint tool is a good option) Set FG and BG colours to default (that little icon bottom of the color squares) Choose the brush Set the brush size Choose a font Set the font size set anything else you can think of. Go to Edit -> Preferences -> Tool Options Click on Save Tool Options Now RE: default foreground/background - Ofnuts - 05-09-2017 (05-09-2017, 11:34 AM)eingram25 Wrote: I'm very careful to always have the foreground black when I quit Gimp. Link to short tutorial on the question in my previous answer... (made a tutorial because this question comes back quite often) |
