Sharpen by Synthesis error - meetdilip - 08-16-2020

I have 2 images. One big and one small. I had to use them together. So I have to resize the small one. Everything is fine. The only problem is the scaled image looks a bit out of focus. So I tried Sharpen (unmask ). It didn't go well. The image become distorted with hue.

Now I tried to sharpen with synthesis. But it is giving me this error continuously

I tried with all other layers off, but the same error. Is there any method to fix this issue ? Thanks.

It is because the active layer (the one you are trying to sharpen) is not th same size as the canvas. Use Layer -> Layer to Image Size and try again.

By all means try the 'resynthesizer' plugins. The only ones I install and use are the two 'heal' plugins. At least one of them (can not remember which, maybe enlarge) does not work.

Using the Gimp Appimage. It comes with a whole section of sharpening algorithms in G'mic. Look in the 'Details' section. Maybe try the Sharpen(gradient) filter.
