More an exercise with Gimp 2.9.5 than anything else.
A nice Victorian pavilion and bowling green but scaled down from original jpeg to 33%
Used the quote: LoHalo method: when you downscale an image thats less than a half of the original size
To be honest, I can not see any improvement over the old Sinc(Lanczos3) algorithm.
Comes to sharpening before exporting, the new UnSharp mask tool is nice, you can split the screen to compare before and after before applying. Still ended up with gmic-for-2.9 and the sharpen(texture) filter.
