Unable to cut to a transparent background - zguylani - 02-23-2021
Hello this is my first post on Gimp-forum and I am a very new user of Gimp.
This seems like an obvious fix but I cannot figure it out for the life of me.
I want to use the fuzzy select tool to cut selections to a transparent background. I have an alpha channel, but when i cut or delete it cuts to a white background. What am I missing?
I posted the above but now I can't cut or delete at all. I can make a selection, but nothing happens when i cut.

You have the layer's alpha lock set.
Switch that off and you should be OK.
